The Perfect Joggers + Recipe Roundup

I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of joggers that have the following criteria -

1) They don’t slide down when I walk.

2) They are on the thicker side.

3) They don’t have a drawstring.

4) They have pockets.

5) They don’t give me pancake butt.

I have finally found them! These Gibson x Living in Yellow Ponte Joggers are it! They are marketed so that you can dress them up, but I personally think joggers are best in the casual department.

Today I’m pairing these joggers with my favorite Madewell tee and this Old Navy distressed denim jacket. The joggers run big, so size down. I’m wearing them in size XS. They also come in petite sizing.

I pulled up my joggers a bit to my calves, put on my Nike sneakers, and am ready to walk out the door.

THE YEAR OF TRYING NEW RECIPES

My RECIPE Roundup:

This year, I’m making it the year of trying new recipes. I’m not trying a new recipe every night, but trying at least 1-2 a week. I figured I’d share the winners with you periodically in case you need some inspiration.

#1) A Middle Eastern Dish called Kibbeh (MEAT)

My Take: This was delicious! My kids ate it too. Win! They said it wasn’t their favorite dish, but they liked it. Still a major mom win! I substituted ground turkey for the lamb and also added green onions and a hint of garlic. I served it with brown rice and green beans. I also made a yogurt spiced sauce to go with it (1.5 cups of plain Greek yogurt, 1 cup shredded cucumber, 1/2 tsp ground cumin, 1/2 tsp minced garlic, 1/8 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper).

#2) “Nacho” Baked Potato (VEGETARIAN)

My Take: This recipe was a nice alternative to eating a burrito or taco. You can also make this recipe with sweet potatoes. I also added this cashew queso (I like the flavor of the mild one), corn, and mild diced chiles to round out the flavors. I cooked the salsa, beans, corn and chiles together for a minute or two before layering on top of my baked potato.
